This set of RARE GREEN 'CHECKERS' NESTING BOWLS were made in Japan in the 1940s. The distinctive checkerboard design is eye-catching and fabulous! The bowls have aged beautifully, with crazing throughout that adds to their character and charm. These will be the highlight of any retro-inspired or farmhouse kitchen.
The larger bowl is in wonderful shape. The glaze has aged a bit darker than the smaller bowl and is simply stunning. No chips.
The smaller bowl has some condition issues: a few small chips around the rim and some dried paint drops (which could likely be carefully removed). Despite the imperfections, the bowl is to die for!
