Rare Vintage Book Poor Little Rich Girl 1940 w/ Dust Jacket
What to get for the diva who has it all? This stunning vintage children's book called 'THE POOR LITTLE RICH GIRL' by Eleanor Gates. The art deco style design on the dust jacket is fabulous. Bold red and silver coloring.
The book was once given as a gift to a very spoiled girl indeed! There is a wonderful hand-written inscription on interior title page that reads: "Fayette from Mammie on the day we saw Ingrid Bergman in 'Joan of Lorraine'." That was a stage play on Broadway in 1946 (Bergman won a Tony award for her performance). Such sweet evidence of the book's history.
Excellent condition for being over 75 years old! Some small scuffs and tears on dust jacket, and very minor age discoloration. Underneath the dust jacket, the cover is in wonderful shape with silver embossed lettering. Tight binding, clean pages with very minor age discoloration. A beautiful vintage gift for a lover of interesting books.
